Hospital Extension

FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION AND MORE

Building More Spaces to your Hospital

As Covid-19 cases surged in different parts of the country, infrastructure in hospitals was under immense pressure. Keeping in view of the need, innovative modular hospitals came as a huge relief amidst the crisis.

Retrofitting an existing building can oftentimes be more economical than building a new facility. The existing buildings comprise the largest segment of the built environment, it is important to initiate retrofits to enhance the functionality and to improve/upgrade the associated building services Initiating a retrofit involves evaluation of the use of the building by the occupants and redesigning building elements which might offer an opportunity to maximize space efficiency, reduce energy consumption and lower the operation costs of the building.

We have the solution to add modules with your existing hospital infrastructure building, even if it is RCC, we provide the proper support system to attach the modules such as OT block, ICU block, Mobile Trauma Unit, Mobile Sterilization unit, Mobile Medical Lab, Pharmacy expansion, Isolation Wards etc.

Modular hospitals are an extension of your existing hospital that can be built adjacent to an existing hospital building. They consist of various life-support equipment and medical devices

Retrofitting of structures Design and Techniques

One way of retrofitting the beams is by concrete jacketing. This involves placing an additional layer of concrete around the existing beam, together with additional longitudinal bars and stirrups, to enhance the flexural and/or shear capacities.

Concrete jacketing is needed to increase bearing load capacity following a modification of the structural design or to restore structural design integrity due to a failure in the structural member. This technique is used on vertical surfaces such as walls, columns and other combinations such as beam sides and bottoms.

Generally, strengthening of the foundations might be needed due to the alterations in serviceability of the buildings. One method of strengthening can be carried out by constructing a concrete jacket to the existing footings

Steel Structure Additional Floor Construction

Our Structural Engineers will calculate the load for the Steel floors on top of the existing building checking the  structural stability of the building.  One way of retrofitting the beams is by concrete jacketing. Steel is a tensile metal. It has a high strength to weight ratio. Steel structures weigh 60% lesser than concrete. Hence Modular Building Extension is the best option if you need more space to your old building.

Quarantine Units: Medical Control Monitoring Units

With the ever increasing and demand for Covid-19 patients, the need for isolation and control environment is needed.

Smard Modular has designed, develop and manufactured state of the art solutions in Quarantine Modulars that include Negative Pressure,

Trailer Based Hospitals

Smard Modular engineering team can work with client project to design and implement the medical solution they want or need. These options can be one Modular or Container to any quantity of units to make it a Functional Operational Clinic or Hospitals services.

For remote areas we can design Medical Post Solutions to Individual Services to Fully Operational Fast Deployable Clinic or Hospitals anywhere in the world.

Hospital Extension Modules

Smard, a company that specialises in modular technology, manufactures prefabricated hospital, Patient room, OT, ICU or osolation wards, using Modular Construction methodology we can minimise the time we spend on site resulting in less noise and disruption, whilst still delivering a high quality, energy efficient solution.

For the National Rural Health Mission, Modcongroup has manufactured Mobile Medical Units (MMU’s) in Association with Indian Navy for affordable and quality health care services. Intended to cater to the urban poor and vulnerable population and provide fixed services in areas where there is no infrastructure.

Mobile Medical Units were an innovation attempted at scale in the past few years the MMU implementation design to provide an optimal service package through effective use of resources. The operational guidelines assist states in crafting the design of MMU services so as to benefit the most marginalized and those living in inaccessible areas.
